I’m currently in meet prep for the 2016 APF Illinois State Meet, in Sycamore, Illinois. I will be competing at 148 pounds, raw (without wraps). At this meet I will just be taking token lifts to qualify for APF Equipped Nationals which is in Orlando, Florida where I will be competing at 132 pounds, raw with knee wraps. As such, the bigger picture is to prep for this meet, and obtain a top three placing to qualify for WPC Worlds in November.

As I mentioned in one of my other logs, this is a busy year for me competitively. While it's not exactly what I would want, it's what needs to be done to get me to WPC World's before it leaves for another two years. With the addition of knee sleeves/wraps, this is a great thing for me and I'd like to get on the world stage. As such, I'll be competing in the APF Illinois State meet on April 3rd at 148 and just walking in and hitting some pretty light weights. Then I'll begin to ramp up for APF Equipped Nationals at 132 (knee wraps are at this meet) down in Orlando in Schwab and Jo Jordan's backyard. So I've got a ways to go until I get a break until world's (I've got to place top 3 at Nationals to qualify).
This training session took place at a gym that I have the ability to train clients out of. I held a seminar on the squat, bench press, and deadlift and afterwards the Purdue Barbell crew and myself got in a good training session. It was awesome to have this kind of atmosphere with everyone training, and nearly everyone in meet prep in some sort of fashion. Not a crazy heavy day, but just a good day to kick things off again.
