Post meet training has been the same for as long as I have worked with Dave..no barbells for 4-8 weeks post meet. The determining factor after 4 weeks is how beat up after the meet you were and how your body feels but it's never less than 4 weeks. The stress your body endures at a meet, a successful one anyway, is tremendous both physically and mentally and it needs time to decompress and heal. While I'm not the poster child of an injury-free athlete but I'm certain it would have been worse had I not followed this recovery program.

Since the meet I've been doing volume work with machines, talking a lot and helping my training partners. My body felt awful for the frist 2 or so weeks after the meet. No injuries but it was weird and felt like I had a hangover. That has subsided and I'm beginning to feel normal again.
