If you didn’t read my second to last post regarding my recent bloodwork, my Creatinine Kinase levels were close to 700 when they shouldn’t be over 200. Creatinine Kinase in blood tests is used as a marker of damage of CK-rich tissue such as in myocardial infarction (heart attack), rhabdomyolysis (severe muscle breakdown), muscular dystrophy, autoimmune myositides, and acute kidney injury. My Rheumatologist checked other blood levels that showed that it wasn’t heart related which leaves muscle breakdown or kidney injury. I don’t have any other signs of kidney issues, so this most likely means that either the autoimmune disease itself is causing muscle breakdown and weakness, or the meds are. The Rheumatologist told me to take 2 weeks off from training then get my blood re-tested. I go in on Monday to get more bloodwork done. I’m beyond frustrated and tired of this. I’ve taken three different biologics (Etrozilumab, Humira, and Entyvio) all of which caused more harm than good. I’ve taken numerous immunosuppressants (two of which I’m still on) and, although my gut issues are as “normal” as they’ve ever been, my joint pain isn’t improving, I’m fatigued and I’m continuing to lose weight and strength. I’ve worked with a functional doctor, taken numerous supplements, have been to the GI doctor, two Rheumatololgists, a Cardiologist and a Hematologist, none of whom were able to do anything other than prescribe more meds. It seems I have few options left, some of which aren’t FDA approved and have more negative press than positive, but I’m an unconventional guy, so I’m going to go with some unconventional options and spend a small fortune that I can’t afford. I can’t live the rest of my life like this. If this works, I could potentially be healed, if not I’ll just have spent a lot of money and be the same. To me it’s worth the risk. I’ll keep you updated. Here’s how one of my last training sessions with Isaac went: 10 mins treadmill Prehab PVC rolled on: Lower back, shifted to right and left Upper back, shifted to right and left scapula w/hips up Armpits Hamstrings Glutes Adductors Deadlifts- 135x5 225x3 w/Ace briefs- 315x2 w/Reverse light bands- 405x2 455x2 495x2
Isaac is a champ and continues to get stronger as I seem to continually get weaker. If he wasn’t here, I may not be training at all. Close Grip Cable Rows- 150x12 165x12 180x10 Reverse Hypers- 90x10x3 Glute Ham Raises on
