This week the goal was to work up to a heavy single on box squat... until I started missing weights 100lbs less than my max. I'm not sure this is 100% of the cause, but I started a new medication yesterday (nortriptyline). The goal of it is to try and help with my sleep and anxiety issues. The doctor told me the first few days I might feel pretty groggy, but I felt absolutely awful today. I think the combination of not sleeping much, feeling dizzy, drowsy, and just out of it didn't help my cause squatting . After missing some ridiculously easy weights and everything just looking like a mess I just decided to call it a day on barbell movements and do some machine work. My last attempt at medication a few years ago was a total mess of side effects and I really don't want to head down that road again. I'm going to give this new one a week and if I'm still feeling this bad I'm going to talk to the doctor about just calling it quits with the medication. I know being patient is important but the last thing I want to do is be walking around like a zombie again.

At the end of the day I know none of these issues are nearly as bad as they could be, so I'm trying to just stay positive. On the positive side, I got my blood work done and my thyroid, testosterone, and complete blood panel (cholesterol, kidney function, blood sugar, etc) were all in really good shape.
