I’m currently in meet prep for the 2015 IPA Grand Prix Nationals at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on October 24th, in Columbus, Ohio. I will be competing at 132 pounds, raw with knee wraps.

I mixed things up a bit and tried the new Maverick knee wraps, and they are awesome. I'm still unsure if I'm going to be giving them a go for the meet, but I think at the very least I will be using them for my last warm up in the warm up room. I noticed that my speed is ridiculously better, but being such a fast lifter I need something to slow me down in the hole, and the Kraits do that best. I compared the 515 attempts and the one with the Mavericks certainly looked the best in terms of speed, but I was still a little shaky in the hole. It's going to be a tough call next week, and I'll likely take some lighter loads and see what is just naturally feeling better and roll with it. I could have some interesting things in the works for some wraps as well, but I'll update on that as it happens, because it's not set in stone. Otherwise, it was good to get a feel for some of the weights I'll be handling next week and I think I've got an idea of what my openers will be. I'll solidify this probably based upon how next week goes, but at least I've got a good idea. Other than that, I'm really pleased with how everything is feeling at this point in the prep!
