Monday was a bench day at Apollon, and the ME exercise for the day was a floor press with doubled mini-bands.

I hadn't done these before (at least not in recent memory, so I had no idea how it would go, but since I'm getting ready to start another shirt cycle, I need to get my top end as strong as possible, so any accommodating resistance is good for me right now.

Warmed up and went

Bar + bands x 5

95 x 5

135 x 1

185 x 1

225 x 1

255 x 1

275 x 1

300 x 1

315 x 1.

Then after I worked up, I did two down sets with 225 for 10 reps.

So with the band, I hit 65lbs under my straight weight max, which seems about right, based on what everyone else did for the day.

I liked this movement a lot and will definitely cycle it back in.

Next, I did dumbbell shoulder presses for the second week in a row. Last week I started light with 4 sets of 12 at 55lbs. This week it was 4 sets of 10 at 65lbs.

Finished with 5 sets of 10 lat pulldowns.

Good times, strength is coming back after a cruise month following the last meet.
