So this is the first time in... well years really, that I've had more than a week of "free time". While I still have some work to do getting prepared for the upcoming school year (class stuff/ running an organization/ etc.), and I still have PL training, that still leaves me with a ton of time (relative to what I'm used to) to do whatever I want!

So how does a Law Student/Powerlifter that is used to having 0 free time, deal with having lots?

1) Reading-- lots of reading. It's rare that I have time to read non-law school related books/articles for hours/unlimited amounts of time (usually I have to ration out my "reading time" before I have to get back to work).

2) Documentaries. I've been watching a documentary a day-- good ones, bad ones, just ok ones. Different subjects, styles, etc.

3) Polishing my Spanish/language skills. I used to be much better when I was living in TX/ able to practice more frequently/easily-- but I don't want that to be an excuse anymore.

4) More recovery work/ relaxation... which is actually much harder than it sounds. When you're used to functioning at Code Red/Urgency/100mph all the time-- slowing down is difficult. But I'm learning, and I think it's beneficial even for when I go back to being in a high stress environment.

5) Spending quality time with people I don't often get to give adequate attention to.

Anyway, this is what I've been doing with my life lately-- and it's been great. A wonderful way to lead into the Pan-Am's happening in ~4 weeks!
