I’m currently in meet prep for the 2015 IPA Grand Prix Nationals at the Greater Columbus Convention Center on October 24th, in Columbus, Ohio. I will be competing at 132 pounds, raw with knee wraps.
For programming and coaching inquires, please email SmitleyPerformanceSystems@gmail.comSaturday I was back to training some heavy squats and deadlifts. Weights are beginning to slowly ramp up to accumulate more overall volume of work. I made some minor adjustments to my hand width on the squats and I felt like I was stay much more upright and my positioning looked way better. My camera was giving me a false sense of depth, so I played around with that angle as well and things look to be right where they need to be as well. It was just one of those sessions though that you just have to push through to finish. I'll admit, that the beginning of my preps are usually daunting on paper, and some days pushing through just sucks. But I know after the first few weeks, I will appreciate it, as it sets me up for success later on. Things look to be moving along good though, especially compared to my last meet prep for XPC, so that's a huge plus.
Next week I should be working up close to what I expect to be a last warm up on both lifts. This should give me a good idea of where I am and hopefully begin to give me an idea of openers so I can plan accordingly.
