I've been pushing sets of 6-8 on my main work for bench the last few weeks, with the goal being to get 8 reps, but not beat myself up if I only get 6. Today was tough, I have been increasing the bar weight 5lbs per week, and this week my top sets were at 195. I forgot my shoes at home and had to go barefoot, which maybe would have been fine for lighter work, but just caused my back to cramp during training since I had to reach further for the floor. I only managed to get 6 on each set. Trying not to be hard on myself is.. well... hard. I always want to perform my best but I need to be ok when my best is 6 reps instead of 8.
