Today was an easy day. I did a ton of stretching and rehab before we got started.

I am constantly working on my technique on deadlift. I guess we all do.

It all starts:

- getting my feet set exactly the same for myself each time. proper placement and distance from the bar. For me about 2" from the bar - grabbing the bar in the exact same place with each hand. I have played with my grip some and I have decided my optimal grip is about again 2" from the knurl for each hand placement. - I try not to re-grip too many times. I have had issues in the past staying down too long re-gripping and it waste energy and kills my momentum. - Once my grip is set and Im ready to tug I try to drop my ass in the best place for me too really incorporate my legs in the pull. - Next as I start my tug off the floor I do everything I can to keep my shoulders pulled back and keep my chest up as I begin to rise up. - As I get to my knees i keep my head going back and begin thrusting my hips forward in a controled fashion. - When the bar is at the lock out position I hold it as if I am waiting for the down command. Not too long but long enough. - Then the most important thing....dont throw the bar to the floor. I have been guilty of this at times, more than I should be. Remember train as you compete....
