This was the shortest off season that I have ever had before but I am OK with that. My teammates are doing a meet in June so we needed to start a new training cycle pretty much immediately. This gives me ample time to get a second training cycle in before I start my real training cycle for the IPA World's in October.

With this extra training cycle and the amount of time I have, this will give me a full year to do everything I can to add 80 pounds to my squat.

I wanted to handle 800 pounds today so that's what I did. Normally I would start with Elite FTS Mammoth black bands but one of ours broke so we are using a blue band and a mini band instead to replicate the big black back instead. I only worked to a 2 board today which normally I would go to a 1 board with a projection weight, but honestly I am not using a projection weight this training cycle. I am just going to go as heavy as I can every 2 weeks and see where that leads me. I'm still going to remain smart in what I am doing and strategic in my choices and do everything I can to stay healthy.

Today went well but in no shape or form do I feel like I am ready to bench 800. I may never bench 800 pounds again due to my shoulder issues that I refuse to have surgery on but I is still fun to play around with this type of weight.
