Beginning Strongman-What do I do? Part 2
Last week I went on a rant on why you need to practice lot. This week I’ll give you some ideas on how to go about it.
8/2- Bench and Viking Presses w/videos
I'm trying to save my shoulders (specifically my rotator cuffs not cups as I’ve heard people like to refer to them) while still getting some decently heavy work in. This is a good combo for low end work.
8/1- Raw Deadlifts w/video
Although my hamstring seems to be almost completely healed, I neglected to realize how well the Home GHRs work to rehab through injuries due to the unique ability to incorporate a push up for assistance.
Are You Up To Standard?
I don't think people really realize the context of what this really means and what standards of training really mean. I do think that it's one thing that gets taken for granted or isn't really even thought about, and I'll note a couple examples to demonstrate what I mean.
Working with newest Goggins Force Lifter Chakera Holcomb
After watching her at a meet I had a long conversation with Chakera & DJ Holcomb her husband.
It's Camp, Not the NHL
Like my program, it's about the acquisition of skills, not the demonstration.
APPLY PROGRAMMING TO THE COGNITIVE NOT JUST THE PHYSICAL [HD VIDEO INCLUDED!!!!]
You have put in 2-3 months of training and now it is the time to heal/rest/recover prior to the meet. This is a time when your mind will start to play tricks on you, but you have to mentally commit to the time off for your performance to be the best on the platform.
